Hey y'all  my name is Sophia George, and 

Im a 20 year old artist based out of Austin Texas. 

 

 

My artistic journey first started with painting at the age of 6. This medium is what soon led me to designing multiple album covers for various musicians and creating commissioned pieces for other clients. I’ve always believed that significant life experiences shape not only our personal lives but also our artistic journey and outlook.  After undergoing open heart surgery at the age of 15, my perspective on art and creation evolved profoundly. This experience inspired me to branch out into new mediums, including fashion sketching, designing various sneakers for clients, and exploring clothing creation.

 

During this time, I became increasingly involved in the music scene in marching band, where I took on various leadership roles. This experience reinforced my belief that art thrives within a community not just in an individual, where collaboration and shared vision drive meaningful work and work that becomes bigger than the creatives themself.

 

I pursued my studies at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), with the goal of expanding my skills and applying my artistry to a career. While my time at SCAD was valuable, I soon realized that I wasnt being challenged in the way I had hoped. The structured environment began to stifle my creative spirit, prompting me to reevaluate my path in which I came back to Austin to continue to pursue my passions.

Currently, I am focused on launching my own brand, painting, and doing videography work in Austin, Texas. This endeavor along with various others are allowing me to continue to grow as an artist while immersing myself in the vibrant and dynamic local creative community.
